Camel Riding

Everyone should try it at least once if only to experience the getting up and the sitting down as their front legs bend first, propelling you forward so you almost fall off the hump. Riding on the back of a camel through the desert is a UAE rite of passage and, if you've not been on one of the hairy humpbacks before, then why not take the opportunity to do so on a safari tour. Children's City

The first educational city in the UAE devoted to children between 2 and 15 years old where they can investigate, explore, play, discover and learn about the world in which we live. A regular visit takes kids on a trip through the human body, nature, international cultures,science and space. All exhibits are in Arabic and English and are specially designed for children to interact and discover together in family and school groups. Creekside Park

Adjacent to the Creek on Riyadh Road on the Bur Dubai side but further inland. Includes children’s play areas. Has a cable car ride that gives you good views of the city and Dubai Creek Golf Club. Ideal for two or three hours - rent a cycle, admire the themed gardens or use the provided BBQ pits.

Dolphin Bay

Wade into crystal clear waters and enjoy a 90 minute Atlantis Dolphin Encounter or Atlantis Dolphin Adventure. Dubai Aquarium And Underwater Zoo

Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo  is where you'll find a world of fantastic sights and incredible experiences. Ferrari World

Yes we know it's not in Dubai, but if for any reason you visit Abu Dhabi you must add on a visit here. An amazing theme park that's like no other. Apart from two rides that involve you being outdoors for just a minute, the theme park is indoors, which can be very welcome in the heat, but the vast building feels airy and light with lots of foliage to give an outdoor feel to it. Hili Fun City

If you're heading for a day out visiting the garden city of Al Ain why not spend some time at Hili Fun City in Al Ain. It boasts 28 attractions for all ages, with roller coasters, rides, an amphitheatre for 1400 people and beautiful landscaped gardens with picnic and play areas. Not expensive and even cheaper on Mondays and Tuesdays with free admission for children under 0.89m tall. It's closed on Sundays and it's reserved for ladies (& children) only on Wednesdays. iFLY Dubai

The UAE's first indoor free-fall skydiving experience. Open daily from 9am 'iFLY is safe for kids, challenging for adults, exciting for teens and realistic for skydivers'. It's a vertical wind tunnel that moves air up in a vertical column. Prices include all equipment (flight suit, goggles,, helmet, ear plugs, socks and shoes) and a flight certificate. Little Explorers

At Playnation in Mirdiff Ciy Centre Mall, is this fascinating 'edutainment' concept that gives children the chance to explore the world around them and learn through play. With games and activities spanning over 97 different exhibits that get the brain ticking and stimulate the senses, children can discover hidden talents and new skills without even realising. Additionally the venue also offers themed workshops conducted by educationally experienced staff and a toy store filled with a whole host of toys and goodies for children.

Sega Republic

Sega Republic is an exciting indoor theme park for the whole family. Located on Level 2 at the Dubai Mall, this thrilling park has five themed zones featuring 9 adventurous attractions and more than 250 games, from cutting-edge motion simulators and virtual experiences to one of the region's largets assortment of redemption games - race, bobsled, spin, snowboard, fight and much more.

Soccer Circus

The Lost Chambers

Walk through the chambers which contain over 20 fresh and seawater marine exhibits including sharks, rays, piranha, giant arapaima, giant grouper, lionfish and much more.A journey through the Lost Chambers will fire the imagination, with underwater insights into how the citizens of Atlantis may have lived. Live out your own Atlantean adventure in this maze of underwater halls and tunnels. At Atlantis on The Palm and open 10am to 11pm.

Wild Wadi*

A five acre water park complex occupying a prime position at the entrance of the Burj Al Arab island on Jumeirah Beach Road, with 30 adrenaline-pumping rides and slides for adults and children, and superlative landscapes. One of Dubai's foremost tourist attractions the Wild Wadi waterpark is designed around a tale from Arabian Folklore featuring Juha and his seafaring friend, Sinbad. Try the Jumeirah Sceirah with a terrifying 32 meter, 50 mph drop, the biggest waterslide (120 metres) outside North America. Or what about the Whitewater Wadi which connects to 13 water slides or the rough and tumble Flood River Flyer, which has 6 slides and is recommended for strong swimmers only.
