Favourite Bars

As a family we've tried and tested almost all the bars listed below, but they are by no means the only bars in Dubai. Our aim here is to give you a starter list of around ten bars that as a new, first time visitor you may like to try.

For a much greater selection of bars, discos, nightclubs and other entertainment events we suggest you buy the weekly Dubai Time Out magazine, which we recommend as your handy bible on all things Dubai. Online you can find similar information on www.timeoutdubai.com

Like the restaurant scene, bars and nightclubs are increasing in variety and number as the Dubai drink and entertainment industry spreads to new areas of the city. In fact new bars seem to open every week so use tje Time Out Dubai website to keep up to date.

The One and Only Royal Mirage Rooftop Lounge and Terrace is at one of the best hotels in Dubai - the One & Only Royal Mirage. It has an external bar/terrace in a beautiful setting overlooking the sea and the Jumeira Palm, and it's open to all. You'll probably have to ask for directions when you get to the hotel and expect the hotel to have valet parking if you drive yourself there. Tel: 04 399 9999

Bar 360 is the round bar/nightclub out at sea, but connected to land by a walkway, adjacent to the Burj Al Arab and Jumeira Beach Hotels (the one like a wave which is the one you drive to, valet park and then go through, to get to Bar 360). It's an ideal place to see the sun set, but likely to be a bit windy. You can walk to the bar down the walkway or take a free golf buggy with driver. Tel: 04 406 8744
